Former Thai conservative lawmakers call on election board to dissolve main democratic opposition party. Thailand's Constitutional Court has ruled that the Forward Party, violated the constitution by amending the lese majeste law, which prohibits defamation of the royal family.

In response to this, former conservative politicians submitted a petition to the Election Commission on the 1st asking for the dissolution of the Forward party. The Election Commission is expected to conduct an investigation and file a complaint with the Constitutional Court, but this may lead to theforward Party being disbanded.
