Fifteen endangered black-billed gulls were found overwintering in the Qilihai Lagoon Wetland in Hebei Province. This is the largest number of gulls recorded in a single day during the winter in the wetland.

It is a first-level protected wild animal in China's "National List of Key Protected Wild Animals" and is included in the "World Conservation Union" Red List of Endangered Species. A total of 204 species of birds, 19 orders, 48 ​​families, have been recorded in theQilihai Wetland.
