FDP justifies its vote against the adoption of the fully negotiated supply chain law. According to parliamentary group leader Dürr, there is a risk of bureaucracy and legal risks.

The planned directive is intended to hold companies accountable for child labor, exploitation and environmental pollution in their supply chains. Germany should have abstained from the vote because the FDP refused to give its consent. As a result, the necessary majority for the regulation was missing and the vote was postponed on Friday. The Federal Minister of Justice later withdrew.
