Erdogan says he will hand over permanent housing to those affected by the earthquake. More than 9,000 people have been displaced by the quake and its aftermath.
The quake was one of the worst in the history of the region, killing more than 1,200 people. The earthquake was centered in the town of Ceyhan in the province of Bursas, in the south of the country. It was followed by a series of smaller tremors in the north of the province, causing damage to several villages.
