Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations finds water in three wells at Pioneer mine. The first well was drilled 170 meters from the surface, water and ice were discovered.

Rescuers began drilling a fourth well to a depth of 295 meters. The managing director of the Pioneer mine has been charged with violating safety requirements during work following the collapse of the mine. TASS previously reported that most of the emergency work at the mine had been suspended after the collapse. The mine is located in the Amur region of Russia.
