Demonstrations against right-wing extremism in around 50 cities over the weekend. More than 50,000 participants on the X platform, formerly Twitter, on Friday.

In Simmern, Rhineland-Palatinate, around 4,000 people demonstrated against an event with AfD co-leader Alice Weidel. In Freiburg, around 20,000 came together on Saturday afternoon. In Darmstadt, too, the police said: “Everything is peaceful, no abnormalities”
