Defense Minister Kihara plans to reconsider plans for an GSDF training range on the site of a former golf course in Okinawa. Local residents have repeatedly called for the plan to be withdrawn due to the surrounding area being a residential area.
A written opinion requesting the revocation of the paper was unanimously passed. The Okinawa Prefectural Assembly decided on the 7th that the plan should be withdrawn. The Ministry of Defense has no plans to abandon the plan at this point, but will reconsider based on the opinion.
