Italian media reported that Rome and Kyiv were completing discussions on a security treaty. Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni could announce it on February 24 at the G7 leaders' summit.

G7 countries (Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, Japan and the USA) on the sidelines of the summit in Vilnius adopted a declaration on the general principles of long-term security guarantees for Ukraine. Russia previously noted that these agreements essentially fix the current level of relations between Ukraine and Western countries.
