Efforts are accelerating to try to deliver more humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territory where the population is lacking food after more than five months of war between Israel and Hamas. UN fears widespread famine in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the difficult-to-access north, where around 300,000 people currently live. A humanitarian maritime corridor opened from Cyprus, at the initiative of the European Union and the United Arab Emirates, with the departure of a first boat on Tuesday.
