Suzi Ronson met David in 1971 after he and his then-wife Angie Bowie caused a stir outside her hair salon in Beckenham, London. David's mother was a client of Suzi's hairdresser mother, but she thought she would never land a job as her stylist.
Despite her fear of her, Suzi ended up as the only working woman in David's touring entourage. Her autobiography details how she ended up dyeing her jockstrap red for his Ziggy character and ironing sweat from his stage outfit.
