Actor Cuba Gooding Jr., 55, has reached a settlement with the woman who accused him of raping her at a New York hotel in 2013. The settlement came shortly before the trial began in Federal Court in New York.
The trial was to begin on Tuesday with the selection of the jury, since the star of Jerry Maguire faced the accusations of the alleged victim. The woman's lawyers were seeking six million dollars in compensation. The actor has also been accused of sexual misconduct against 30 other women, including groping, unwanted kissing and other inappropriate acts.
