Contemporary artist Xu Bing was appointed as Hong Kong’s “Cultural Promotion Ambassador”. He will be responsible for the planning of large-scale art projects in Hong Kong.
He has won many awards in the international art world, including the 14th Fukuoka Asian Cultural Award in Japan, the first Wales International Visual Arts Award, and the "Printmaking Art Lifetime Achievement Award" from the National Printmakers Association. It is hoped that through artistic creation, the existing Hong Kong characteristics will be presented to the public in a refreshing way.
