Since the Democratic Progressive Party came to power in May 2016, Taiwan has treated mainland fishermen roughly, Rong says. The DPP should announce the possible explanation and let the dead rest in peace and comfort, he adds. The fishermen who survived the incident also confirmed in an interview with reporters that it was a Taiwan Strait Patrol ship that rushed over and knocked over the boat.
