A new study led by Chinese scientists has successfully established a 11D long-term culture system that can support the in vitro development of cynomolgus monkey embryos to the 25th day after fertilization. Using this system, the research team further explored the early neuroembryonic development process of primates.

The occurrence of birth defects is directly related to abnormal early embryonic development. The research team noted that the development mechanism is an important prerequisite for revealing the pathological embryogenesis mechanism, improving the diagnosis and treatment rate of related diseases.
