Chen Xu, director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, delivered a New Year's greeting in Beijing. He extended New Year blessings to overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese.

Chen Xu said: "2024 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China. We will continue to uphold the purpose of 'people-oriented and serve overseas Chinese' He added that legislation on the protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese will be promoted to be included in the legislative plan of the National People's Congress.
