In Chad, the National Transitional Council (CNT) adopted on February 22, 2024 the new electoral code. It will govern the next legislative, senatorial and local elections but especially the presidential election.

The current transitional president Mahamat Idriss Deby, has already been designated by the MPS as its candidate. The code authorizes him to run by lowering the minimum age to 35 years but he will first have to be “on  call’ RFI: What are the main provisions of the electoral code adopted by parliament?
