Cannabis legalization is due to come into force on April 1st. Some federal states want to delay entry into force by six months.
The judiciary does not have “nearly” enough time to examine sentences that have already been imposed. Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) did not hear of the problem early on. According to the law, consumption and possession of cannabis of up to 25 grams will be permitted in the future, but only for adults.
