Calls for a ceasefire in Gaza are increasing from American cities. At least 48 cities issued symbolic resolutions calling for an end to the Israeli bombing of Gaza.

Most of the resolutions were passed in Democratic states such as California, but at least 14 were issued in swing states like Michigan. The vote in favor of the Gaza ceasefire reflects the frustration of young and non-white voters towards Biden and other Democratic Party leaders, a Detroit council member said. American support for Israel throughout the war caused Americans to be sharply divided, with protests continuing and lawsuits being filed against the Biden administration.
