Income restrictions will be removed, eligibility will be expanded to 18 years of age, and children from the third child onwards will receive a monthly allowance of 30,000 yen. If both parents take childcare leave for 14 days or more, they will receive real take-home pay for up to 28 days.

The government believes that the last chance to put a stop to the declining birthrate is until the 2030s, when the young population will rapidly decline, and hopes to pass the amendment bill in the current Diet session.
