In Côte d'Ivoire, the electoral register has nearly 8 million voters. This is the announcement made this Saturday, May 20 in Abidjan by the Independent Electoral Commission.

The list is already causing controversy: the Party of African Peoples disputes the absence of its former president Laurent Gbagbo from this file. Nearly 715,000 new applications for registration were received. Nearly 53,000 deceased persons were removed from the roster. The Electoral Commission believes that it has obtained a reliable roster for the local elections on 2 September.
