The British government is going to court in the dispute over WhatsApp messages from former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The deadline set by the Corona Committee of Inquiry to release the news and other documents had expired.

The judges should examine whether the investigative body has the right to force the release of "undoubtedly irrelevant" messages and documents, according to a letter from the government agency Cabinet Office to the committee. Current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak fears that his role in the pandemic could also be scrutinized again.
