Britain's Royal College of Nurses has warned that the country could face years of strikes unless the government changes its strategy on health service pay. Tens of thousands of nurses in England are preparing for a 28-hour general strike from Sunday evening after the union rejected a government offer to settle a wage dispute.

It comes as thousands of railway workers in Britain plan to strike on May 13, after the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers rejected the latest wage offers from train operators. The dispute has sparked strikes that have disrupted the Gaza Strip since last summer.
