U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the actions of the Kosovo government were contrary to the recommendations of the United States.

He added that the actions would have consequences for bilateral relations between the U.S., Kosovo and Serbia. The U.N. Security Council has approved a resolution that calls on the Kosovo authorities to stop the use of force against citizens of the country. The resolution also calls on Kosovo's government to refrain from using force against residents of the region, and to allow the return of citizens to their homes.
