US Secretary of State Blinken's recent so-called "dinner table theory" has aroused concern in Taiwanese society. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, responded to relevant questions in Beijing on February 28.

She emphasized that Taiwan is not interested in the United States. The rhetoric is just a "chess piece" to contain China's development, she said. "Taiwan independence" is a dead end, and outsiders cannot be trusted, she added.
