The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major national strategy personally planned, deployed and promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping. With less than 1% of the country's land area and 5% of its population, the area accounts for 11% of China's total economic output.
