The US Senate is considering a $14 billion aid package to Israel for the Gaza Strip. The money would be used to pay for the construction of a new Gaza border crossing.

The U.S. government is also considering a loan to Israel to help pay for a new border crossing to the West Bank and the Sinai Peninsula. The move would be in response to the UN Security Council resolution that calls for the creation of a Palestinian state. The UN resolution also calls on the Israeli government to take steps to stop the flow of money to the Palestinians.
