Berlin election 2024: CDU and AfD make gains in partial repeat of federal election. Around 550,000 Berliners, a fifth of all eligible voters, were asked to cast their vote again in 455 of the 2,257 electoral districts.
The voter turnout was significantly lower than in the 2021 election. Extrapolated to the whole of Berlin, the repeat election reduced turnout by 5.7 points to 69.5 percent. There were no changes compared to the 2021 federal election among directly elected representatives.
