Bereaved families of Manila street battles give lecture “Memory must not fade”. Fierce urban battles took place between former Japanese and American forces in Manila from February to March 1945.

Philippine authorities reported that approximately 100,000 civilians were either caught up in the fighting or killed by the former Japanese forces. Seventy-nine years later, there are very few survivors who know what happened at the time, but at the lecture, the bereaved families shared the testimonies left behind.
