Mattel launches new model of Barbie doll carrying trisomy 21. Doll has some of the physical traits associated with this genetic abnormality.

Doll is smaller than the average Barbie, has a longer torso compared to the rest of its body, smaller ears, a flat nasal bridge and almond-shaped eyes, characteristics commonly found in people with Down syndrome. Mattel has multiplied, in recent years, the openings to diversify the profile of the famous doll. The Californian company now claims 175 different models of Barbie.
