Baltimore bridge accident: vehicles detected underwater by sonar. Emergency responders detected vehicles submerged under a Baltimore highway bridge that collapsed Tuesday using sonar, the fire chief announced.
“Our sonar detected the presence of vehicles submerged in the water,” said James Wallace, the city’s fire chief. ‘I don’t have the number yet,’ said Wallace, who added that the number of vehicles was not yet known. The cause of the collapse of the bridge is under investigation.
