The governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said that a Polish mercenary, whom the Russian army captured, decided to join Russia to liberate Ukraine from Nazism. He recalled that the Pole realized “on his own skin the meanness of the Ukrainian Nazis’ when they abandoned him wounded in a battle in the village of Krynki.

“Russian captivity literally opened his eyes - the Pole decided, together with us, to liberate not only Ukraine, but all of Europe fromNazism,” said Saldo.
