Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to commit to holding early elections in Israel. Netanyahu rejected the calls of the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer.

Recent polls in Israel showed that more than 65% of Israelis support the idea of early elections after the end of the IDF military operation in the Gaza Strip. According to public opinion polls, if elections were held today, Netanyahu and his coalition would be defeated. Some intelligence agencies even expect large protests in Israel demanding the resignation of the current prime minister.
