The trial of François Bayrou and ten other people in the case of the assistants of MEPs of the MoDem is scheduled from 16 October to 22 November in Paris. The current High Commissioner for Planning and close ally of Emmanuel Macron, will be tried for complicity in the embezzlement of European public funds between June 2005 and January 2017.
The investigation began in March 2017 after the denunciation of a former elected National Front, Sophie Montel, on fictitious jobs of employees of 19 of her colleagues of all sides.
