Initiated in the United States in 1956, artificial intelligence (AI) has now completely invested our daily lives. From social networks to GPS navigation, from facial recognition to medical diagnostics or robotics in industry.

Nicolas Sabouret, professor of computer science at Paris-Saclay University, answers RFI's questions. He explains what AI is, its history, how it works, what it can bring and what its dangers are. The term artificial intelligence is quite misleading, he says, as it is computer computing in which we have simplified the problem.
