Two Russian armed groups, loyal to Ukraine, reportedly attacked a Russian border town in the Belgorod region. Images on social media show heavy columns of smoke as well as military vehicles at the border post.
"The next step is to liberate all of Russia from Putin's policies and end the criminal war," writes one of the groups, which calls itself the legion "Freedom for Russia" The Russian Ministry of Defense confirms the attack, and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claims that they are Ukrainian saboteurs.
