Government and Sweden Democrats want to introduce time-limited and geographically delimited search zones following the Danish model. In a search zone, the police do not need to have a concrete suspicion of a crime to be able to search someone.

The method has been used about 230 times in Denmark, and the police have caught illegal weapons. Ardalan Shekarabi (S) believes that the government and SD are focusing on ineffective measures. Richard Jomshof, on the contrary, believes that search zones could help curb serious crime.
