ArcelorMittal says it will start construction of a new unit in Mardyck (North) in "mid-2023" The new unit will produce, from 2025, 200,000 tonnes per year of steel. It will employ an additional 100 people, on the site where half a thousand people already work.

The project was announced a year ago, before the opening of a public inquiry, which ended on May 12. It aims to "meet the needs" of this automotive market.
