The State Department and the White House expressed condolences regarding the crash of the Il-76 plane in the Belgorod region. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.
Earlier, American officials, on condition of anonymity, confirmed to The New York Times that Ukrainian troops used a Patriot missile system to shoot down a Russian Il- 76 plane. The U.S. State Department has not commented on the Russian ambassador’s comments. The White House has also not commented.
