U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a ceasefire in Sudan on Monday.

The United States is working with its allies and partners to establish a commission. The ceasefire is expected to last for 72 hours, according to the U.S., which has been involved in the conflict since 15 April. The US is also working with other countries in the region to repatriate their nationals and diplomatic personnel from the conflict zone, which has killed more than 3,000 people so far. The U.N. Security Council has called for an end to the violence.
