Switzerland is an officially neutral country that does not sell its weapons to countries mired in conflict. An investigative team has found that it was involved with its military equipment in attacks and armed clashes in Afghanistan and Brazil.

The team concluded that 18 Swiss Pilatus jets were involved in the Afghan conflict. Between 2007 and 2014, Switzerland exported 30 Piranhas armoured vehicles to the Brazilian navy and tanks produced by Mowag that fell into American hands. Swiss parliament adopted a proposal to end arms exports in October 2021.
