A significant increase in death rates for patients with kidney and chronic diseases was recorded in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. The large exodus to Rafah put enormous pressure on Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital, the only government hospital in Rafah.

In the last two weeks before his death, Sheikh Ibrahim underwent two washing sessions at a rate of one hour in each session, one of them in Nasser Hospital. In her last days before her death, Wajiha Al-Jamal, who lost her “dearest daughters - to her body and the lives of her five daughters - suffered from tumors.”
