The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, met on Wednesday with the Secretary of State of the United States, Tony Blinken. The two were scheduled to discuss more than half a dozen bilateral and global issues.

Among the first were, according to diplomatic sources, the recent bilateral decision to expand from four to six the number of destroyers with anti-missile systems that are based in Rota. Albares will present to his US counterpart some "brushstrokes" on Spain's plans for the relationship between the EU and the US when he occupies the European presidency.
