Port Sudan looks set to lose the calm it has enjoyed since armed clashes erupted in Sudan. Authorities fearing the infiltration of RSF fighters into the country's important port city turned into a diplomatic headquarters.

Security authorities seized weapons and explosives, as well as spotted a number of sleeper cells and arrested members of the Rapid Support Forces. The government imposed a curfew and renewed the state of emergency, stressing that no bus to Khartoum or other cities is allowed to leave, in an attempt to prevent the departure of the rest of the suspicious elements.
