Abortion pill Mifepristone has been on the market in the United States for more than 20 years. Abortion opponents want to severely restrict access.

But the judges of the Supreme Court express doubts. The court will not announce its final decision for a few weeks. If the court restricts access to the drug, this would apply nationwide. This would massively restrict access, particularly for many women who live in states where abortions are largely banned. The Supreme Court has an ultra-conservative majority and moved far to the right under former President Donald Trump.
