Burg is a lovely little town in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve south of Berlin. The town is bright, clean, full of half-timbered houses and has no train station.

News stories described Hitler salutes in the schoolyard and swastikas on the benches of a school. The education minister of Brandenburg said that the situation in Burg reminded him of an era "which should actually be far in the past in Germany" The majority of those I met were very friendly and not at all right-wing extremist.
