The European Union has decided not to finance a new stadium in Venice. A solution has been found to fund the project with the proceeds of Klimt's 'Judith' The idea was originally thought to be a joke on April Fool's Day.
But the City Council has now confirmed that it is not a joke and will go ahead with the project. The new stadium will be built on the site of a former naval base on the island of Cremona in the Adriatic Sea.
