The Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party have decided to approve the export of defense equipment jointly developed with other countries. The government is requesting a decision on exports to be made by the end of February.

In order to avoid affecting the trilateral talks, the government and Liberal Democratic party are proposing to put certain brakes on the issue, such as conducting strict examinations of each piece of equipment. Prime Minister Kishida should explain the matter in the Diet in order to gain the understanding of the people, and the focus will be on whether an agreement can be reached.
