Bundestag member Gregor Gysi proposed to stop supplies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for 48 hours for the sake of a truce. If Russia refuses this proposal, then arms supplies to Ukraine should continue.
However, as the politician noted, if Russia agrees, the parties will reach a ceasefire, which will open the way to peace negotiations. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington currently does not see conditions for negotiations on Ukraine. In Ukraine more than 70% of citizens are in favor of a diplomatic settlement of the conflict with Russia.
