A fire broke out at midnight in the Central Post Office building in Manila on the 22st. The fire continued to burn for more than seven hours, causing at least five injuries and serious damage to the inside of the building.

The building was built in 1926 and rebuilt in 1946, making it one of the country's historical landmarks. In 2018, the National Museum of the Philippines listed the Centralpost Office Building as an "Important Cultural Property" in the country. The head of the Philippine postal administration said that some letters and parcels stored there may be destroyed.
