A draft UN resolution for a truce in Sudan during Ramadan...and these are its most prominent provisions. Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has been experiencing an armed conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

The draft resolution urges all countries to “refrain from external interference that seeks to provoke conflict and instability” and calls on those countries to support efforts to achieve lasting peace in Sudan. About 25 million people - half of Sudan's population - need humanitarian aid, and many organizations have warned of famine in the country.
